AJSS teams, voluntarily approach various
employers, assess the need for trained people in various trades
and develop the programs with the help of experts. All India
Radio, Alumni, voluntary agencies, industries, District Employment
Exchange, etc help in identifying candidates for the courses.
The trainees are selected for training on the basis of their
educational level, aptitude and family background.
It has been the practice of the JSS that
whenever a meeting for boys and girls are organized by any
agency accessible to JSS, at the end of the session, JSS coordinators
call for parents and appraise them of the activities of JSS.
The parents are invited to the Institute and shown the avenues
available for their wards to get trained in various vocations
with the job guarantee. Similarly, whenever programmes are
undertaken for Self-Help Groups in various rural areas, on
the last day of the course the children of the beneficiaries
who are unemployed are called for a meeting and apprised the
avenues open to them. The response has been very good.
Through survey of the training needs in Coimbatore, the Jan
Shikshan Sansthan is able to conduct more than 126 kinds of
training and assures employment soon after the training. The
target groups are socio – economically backward and
come under the categories of illiterates, neo literates, school
drop outs, unemployed, under employed, slum dwellers, SCs (Socially deprived) /
STs (Forest dwellers) , physically challenged, etc |
